On behalf of the Rector Masaryk University, Prof. Jan Slovak for 2 years was engaged as one of the leaders of the work on a new high-tech university campus creation. About 200 million euros were raised for the construction of infrastructure facilities directly, and about 260 million euros were raised from the European Structural Fund to create a research infrastructure and the Central European Technological Institute.
Area of scientific interests – geometric analysis.
He has experience as a professor and researcher in the universities of Vienna, Austria, Australia, Adelaide University and other leading international research centers.
He held various positions at the academic, regional and national levels (pro-rector for strategic development, director of the technology transfer office, adviser to the Minister for Youth, Education and Sports on European funds and technology transfer).
He is the chief editor of the journal Differential Geometry and its supplements (Elsevier publishing house), a member of the European Mathematical Society, the American Mathematical Society, and others.
